ART x SCIENCE 2021
In 2021, ART x SCIENCE embedded community engagement at the core of the project. Artists and scientists consulted community groups on their lived experiences and their perspectives of healthcare developments to create two new exhibits that reimagine research.
Artists x Scientist = In Utero
Artists Stiliyana Minkovska, Wushuang Tong and Sarah Schrimpf and scientist Julie Sigurdardottir collaborated to explore research into how maternal physical and mental health impacts the development of baby’s brains during pregnancy.
Artists x Scientist = Hidden Stories of the Heart
Artists Folashade Elizabeth Olukoya and Sophie Richter and scientist Marica Muffoletto collaborated to explore research into how trauma can have an impact on the structure and function of the heart.
